Education Minister Dipu Moni on Sunday said expressed hope that admission tests in all public universities will be held through a cluster system from next year.
“Seven public agricultural universities are set to introduce the system this year. The process is on and by 2020, all public universities will be brought under the system,” said the Minister.
The Education Minister said this in reply to a query of BNP MP Harunur Rashid at the parliament session today.
The government has been trying to introduce a uniform admission test for public universities since last nine years, to ease the hassle of admission seekers and their guardians, she added.
Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Sylhet Agricultural University, Khulna Agricultural University, Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and Patuakhali Science and Technology University would introduce the cluster admission system this year.
Under the system, admission seekers would be enrolled at public universities based on the merit list prepared from one single test.
