Although Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader claimed that the BUET Vice chancellor was sick, teachers said he is doing well.
"And even, leaders of the BUET Teachers Association had a meeting with the the VC at his residence on Monday night to discuss the latest campus situation following the murder of second year student Abrar Fahad," said BUET Students' Welfare Director Mizanur Rahman.
Talking to media on Tuesday, Mizanur Rahman said,"The VC sir is doing fine. But he is a bit hesitant to tackle the student movement."
He also said that in the meeting, VC Dr Saiful Islam has been requested to take steps to bring back normalcy on the camps.
"It's ridiculous if anyone said the VC is sick," Mizanur Rahman said.
Earlier in a press conference on Tuesday, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the BUET Vice Chancellor Dr Saiful Islam was sick.
"The VC could not go to the protesting students as he is sick. But, he'll talk to them," said Obaidul in reply to a question from a journalist.
