Ifti Mosharraf Sakal, one of the accused of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Abrar Fahad murder case, on Thursday confessed his involvement in the killing.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury recorded the confessional statement of Sakal.
Earlier, investigation officer and detective branch inspector Md Wahiduzzaman produced Sokal before the court and pleaded to record his statement under Section 164.
After recording the statement, the magistrate sent Sakal, expelled deputy social welfare secretary of BUET unit of BCL, to jail.
The same court on October 8 placed Mehedi Hasan Rasel, Muhtasim Fuad, Anik Sarker, Ifti Mosharraf Sokal, Sefayetul Islam Jiyon, Ishtiaq Munna, Khandaker Tabakkharul Islam Tanvir, Mozahidur Rahman, Muntamir Al Jemmy and Mehedi Hasan Robin, on a five-day remand.
Abrar Fahad, 21, a second year student of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), was found dead at his dormitory Sher-e-Bangla Hall early Monday.
