And the students of Adamjee Cantonment Public School became the runners-up in the regional stage of the Pusti-Prothom Alo School Debate Festival in the Mirpur-Cantonment area of ​​the capital.

Dhaka regional phase of Pusti-Prothom Alo School Debate Festival 2023 has started today Saturday. 13 educational institutions of Mirpur-Cantonment area participated in this regional phase of Manipur High School and College of Dhaka, Mirpur of the capital. The subject of the final debate was, ‘Sports education should be made compulsory in all educational institutions at the primary level’. Sara Tasneem, the team leader of the winning team, was the best speaker in the final in this regional phase of Dhaka.

At the end of the final, the managing editor of Prothom Alo, fiction writer Anisul Haque and Principal of Manipur High School and College Zakir Hossain gave away the prize. At the award ceremony, Anisul Haque thanked the debaters for the beautiful debate. And thanked the TK group for being with the Prothom Alo school debate festival. TK Group’s Head of Brand and Communication gave a welcome speech. Ibrahim Khalil. He said that nutrition will be associated with this event of Prothom Alo in the future as well. Apart from this, Eftesham Islam won the Barwari debate. He is a student of BF Shaheen College in the capital. In the lower secondary group of the quiz competition, Avro Neel Roy, a student of Adamji Cantonment Public School, came second, Trideep Sarkar, a student of Mirpur Cantonment Public School, and Deep Tuli Sinha, a student of Nahar Academy High School, came third.

Tamim Al Islam, a student of South Point School and College, stood first, Praloy Charushi, a student of Mirpur Cantonment Public School, and Jawad Al Kabir, a student of SOS Harmain Meiner College, stood third in the secondary group in the quiz.

Deputy Attorney General Amit Dasgupta presided over the final debate. The judges were Prothom Alo Bandhu Sabha National Board of Directors President Uttam Roy, General Secretary Zafar Sadiq, banker and Jahangirnagar debating organization Judo Founder President Abdullah Ahmed Chowdhury, Prothom Alo Assistant News Editor former debater Rashedul Alam Russell, former debater Falguni Majumdar, Abu Bakr Siddique Prince, Ahmed Sagar and Noman Rahman.

Earlier in the morning, the debate festival was inaugurated at the Manipur High School and College Auditorium with the National Anthem. Then psychiatrist and assistant professor of National Institute of Mental Health Dhaka Ahmed Helal discussed the evils of drugs. He made the students pledge to say ‘no’ to drugs. After that traditional debate workshop was organized. After that the debate competition started. The debate competition was accompanied by cultural performances throughout the day. Bandhu Sabha members performed dances and songs. The members of the bandhu sabha have cooperated in the whole arrangement.
